My personal thought on it is that the only way to win this is completely ceasing engagement on social media, particularly with public figures. It sounds counter productive, but it will make you an outlier in a system that has now become largely a panapticon of surveillance and the system doesn't know how to handle an outlier.
If you can't ride the wheel or break the wheel, simply get of the wheel and walk your own way.
Kakistocracy, I would say certainly for those who think they have power.
The system no longer (if it ever did) functions in favour of people, like the "American dream" concept. So the best thing to do is to build for ourselves. Show them how much better off we are in our society and our culture, that is how we prove the system is broken. By not engaging and rebuilding better, then others who reject us at the moment can see how good things can be.
Very thought-provoking article Si. I love a good meme, but we must remain vigilant as to what we’re sharing and who’s benefitting
Always needs to be at forefront of everything now, the digital panapticon we exist in now demands we be vigilant
